Madison West is a sensitive and thoughtful Singer-Songwriter with a distinct sound. She has a voice that makes you want to slow down and listen. The lyrics in her songs are filled with images that leave lasting impressions. Madison’s vulnerability and grounding presence infuse her work. She strives to be curious and capture unique moments in her songs that are the art of life, with all of its beauty and challenges.

Madison was encouraged to embrace her creativity from an early age. Her first violin teacher, Mary Hattersly (Greezy Wheels) of Austin, Texas, awakened a love of music in Madison that she has never veered from. At the age of 12, she and her family relocated to the Pacific Northwest. There on a small island, to cope with her changing world, she picked up the guitar and began to write songs.

Madison shared her songs locally at Music in the Park, The Local Artist Showcase, and Women Songwriter’s in the Round. Throughout High School, she played many venues around Washington State including the Evergreen State Fair, Whidbey Island Fair, San Juan County Fair, and Treos in Tacoma.

She’s played the early show at Taos Inn, Taos NM, and Proper Nang in Austin, Texas. She can be seen playing Orcas Island venues in the summer.

Another life changing event for Madison was receiving a partial scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music’s Five Week Summer Program. At Five Week, she felt she had found her musical family. She was selected by Melissa Ferrick to perform at the Songwriter’s Showcase. It was at Five Week that she set her sights on honing her songwriting craft at Berklee for college.

Madison cares deeply about those around her and contributes songs that honor equality and inspire social change.

She graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Songwriting.
